They’re closing the Ambelokipi Carrefour.

oh no

This supermarket, just up the street from my old apartment in Ambelokipi was a lot to me. It was my entertainment, my nourishment, my consumerist embassy from the first world of Europe here in nulle part d’ailleurs Greece. Spent so much time in here, now it’s gone. Carrefour, the French parent company upped stakes and went back to France, giving up on Greece. Oh well. Adieu. Ne laissez pas la porte vous frapper dans le dos en sortant. (Don’t let the door hit you in the butt on the way out.)

Author: Blaine L. Reininger

Blaine L. Reininger was born July 10, 1953 in Pueblo, Colorado. Then he lived a life. By and by, he founded Tuxedomoon with Steven Brown in 1977. He traipsed around America, tuxedomooning until 1980, when he began to traipse around Europe. As a direct result of all of this traipsing, many musical compositions were composed, most of which found their way to some sort of mechanical device capable of reproducing musical compositions. This was mostly for the good. He now lives in Athens, Greece, where he is content.
